I am a graphic designer, printmaker and illustrator that was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA. I currently live in Henrico, VA and I work as a Graphic Artist in Richmond, VA. In May 2011, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts with a dual concentration in Graphic Design and Print & Photo Media and a minor in Art History, from Old Dominion University.
I am interested in combining my talents, with both digital and analog media, to communicate through graphic design by using drawing, painting, printmaking and graphic art. I have a passion for good design and the process involved in traditional printmaking.
I have participated in several art exhibitions. In 2011, I was featured in the 22nd National Drawing and Print Competitive Exhibition at the Gormley Gallery at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. I was also in Genesis 2011: College Student Juried Art Exhibition, juried by Michael Preble, at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center. Before graduation, I participated and helped with the gallery process in the 4th Annual Student Juried Exhibition, juried by Heather Russell, at the Baron & Ellin Gordon Galleries at Old Dominion University. A friend asked me to participate in the Make A Difference…Rebuild the Future Art Show at the Jewish Mother Backstage and all the proceeds went to aiding Japan after the Tsunami. Recently, I worked together with Colin Padgett Arnold to do a collaborative exhibiton for our senior project. The d’ART Center at the Selden Arcade featured our work in The Gaze & Youth: A Collaborative Exhibition by Colin Padgett Arnold and Martha Vann, which was a contrast between our individual collections of colorful portraits and I exhibited my Hey Girl, Hey! portrait series.
Some recent clients that I’ve worked with include the eco organizer, Elizabeth Childs-Johnson and a local band, Malthus.
I look forward to the opportunities that the growing art community of RVA has to offer me and other opportunities that may arise in the future.
